Our commitment
We want every guest, regardless of physical or cognitive abilities, to enjoy using our website. This statement describes what is already in place, where we are still improving, and how you can reach us when something doesn't work.
Guiding principles
Our website follows the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1), the internationally recognised standard for accessible web content. We have not undergone a formal external audit, so we cannot guarantee full conformance. We see accessibility as a continuous improvement process.
What is already in place
Accessibility menu
At the bottom right of every page you'll find an accessibility icon. In the menu you can adjust:
- Text size in three steps (default, +12.5 %, +25 %)
- High contrast, stronger colours for better readability
- Reduce motion, pause all movement, helpful with vestibular sensitivity
- Underline links, clear visual marking of every link
Your settings are saved in your browser and remain in place for your next visit.
Keyboard navigation
- The whole navigation is reachable via Tab, including the dropdown areas
- A skip link ("Skip to main content") appears on the first Tab press and skips the navigation
- Dialogs (image gallery, overview maps, mobile menu) can be closed with the Esc key
- In the image gallery you navigate between pictures with the arrow keys
- A visible focus outline always shows you where you are
System preferences are respected
- If you have "reduce motion" enabled in your operating system, all animations on our website are automatically reduced to a minimum.
- The page language is declared (de or en), important for screen readers and translation tools.
Structural markup
- Semantic HTML elements (heading hierarchy, navigation, main content)
- All images have alternative text
- Modal dialogs are marked as such for screen readers (role="dialog")
- Icon-only buttons have descriptive labels (aria-label)
Known limitations
- External booking form: Our booking area embeds a form from campbuchung.de. The content and operation of that form are beyond our direct control.
- PDF documents: Some of our PDFs (menu, site map, price list) are not yet fully accessible. We are happy to provide the content in an alternative form on request.
- Image descriptions: Gallery images currently carry generic descriptions. We are adding detailed image descriptions step by step.
- Embedded widgets: External map and review widgets do not always meet all requirements.
Feedback & alternative access
If you encounter obstacles or need content in a different form (e.g. large print, audio or plain language), please contact us directly. We usually reply within 3 – 5 working days and will provide the requested content as far as possible.
